To determine the effects of coconut oil intake on the blood lipid profile and incidence of CVD among Bicolanos aged 15 years and over.
1. To determine the prevalence of CVD among the subjects using clinical assessment;
2. To determine the blood lipid profile of the subjects specifically total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL-cholesterol) and low density lipoprotein (LDL-cholesterol);
3. To relate dietary intake specifically coconut oil to prevalence of CVD and blood lipid profile of residents in the region.
